Lombardy boasts a centuries-old agricultural tradition and a deep-rooted culinary culture. The huge number and variety of quality products, spread right across the regional territory, proves it. This heritage is aligned with the increasing awareness of ethical and healthy behavior and habits. Our goal is to transfer these values to the new generations.
This is why we have been involved in food education over the years, in other words looking after the complexity of food, considering also the historic, anthropological, agronomic and ecological point of views. Since 1978, Lombardy Region has been planning and coordinating food educational projects, to provide a deeper knowledge of agriculture, and its typical and traditional products.
Students, teachers and parents, as well as people involved in culinary education, together with citizens and consumers are the main target groups. There are also projects for citizens/consumers, carried out in cooperation with trade or consumer associations.
